Lots of (keyless) Tower Double Lock Leg Irons

This is a really nice set of Towers Double Lock Leg Irons with USMC stamp. These were used by the United States Marine Corps.

This is not an uncommon restraint, but the USMC mark is much less common. These appear to be in very good condition and the asking price is $297.77 or best offer. Unfortunately, these do not have a key...

Which brings me to our current topic, namely, keyless Towers Double Lock Leg Irons.

Here is a rather dirty pair that would nonetheless probably clean up alright with a decent patina base. $148 or best offer, again No key.

Here is another set with a fairly rough condition at first glance. This set is only $125, and yes, there is no key.

Here is a somewhat rusty but not rusted pair on sale for $150, AI description included at no extra cost, no key.

And another example, this one with a nicer exterior condition. $249.95 dollars, zero keys.

So that makes five examples right now on eBay. Again, these aren't a very rare restraint, but this lack of keys is both new and concerning. I have no data to back it up, but I believe the supply of Towers Double Lock Leg Irons on eBay has historically had plenty of examples WITH keys.

This is concerning because the worlds greatest locksmith is currently boycotting America and Americans.

The key isn't really a complex key. It's basically a modern handcuff key with slightly larger dimensions. There is some variation, though, enough so that a standard towers Double Lock key doesn't necessarily exist as a concrete thing. I am NOT a locksmith, however, and I am lucky I bought a couple keys a number of years ago for my Towers.

There are also a few pairs of 'Towers' leg irons with a twist link chain but that's another topic. I have read that these are not a Towers cuff at all. Maybe someone copied the design now that the copyright has expired?
I mean, it's a Towers pattern for sure. There doesn't appear to be any significant difference. These are on sale for $225 and there is no key.

Come on people stop losing the keys. Keep them on a key ring with a snap and snap them onto the chain..too little too late now, the only cuffs being made now that may be collectable in 100 years are Clejuso #8/#13/#15 and the KUB brass items.
