Mint in Box Super Cuff

 

This is a near mint set of H & R Super Handcuffs with original box and 2 keys. 

It sold for $238.50 after 27 bids. 

These are quality restraints with a hidden keyhole inside of the swivelling clevises. The clevis must be at a 90 degree angle to expose the keyhole. These are double locking handcuffs. H & R also made a matching Super Leg Iron which is much much more rare. 

The Chinese restraints industry has copied this design and produced very similar handcuffs, leg irons, a neck collar, and a padlock using this design. Only the handcuffs are readily available in the USA. 

The biggest difference between the two is that the new Chinese made item has a small brass colored rivet/pin on the lock case, which the original H & R does not. They also use a different key; the original used a two prong key and the Chinese version uses a triangular hole. The keys are otherwise of the same form factor i.e. they look the same except the "bit" at the end of the key which is in line to the key barrel.
