American Munitions Company leg irons
Here is a nice pair of modern, swing through, ratcheting, double lock leg irons made by the American Munitions Company. They sold for $131.50 after 16 bids. I was pleasantly surprised to see so much bidding activity on these, which are not very uncommon. Here is the makers mark. When American Munitions became American Handcuff, they updated the design and machining significantly. The American Munitions had a very basic fit and finish.
The American Munitions Company was the precursor to the American Handcuff Company. They began making, well, munitions, for the American military, as well as these very basic modern leg irons. The cuffs themselves are quite heavy, with a smooth, polished surface. These use a standard modern handcuff key and functionally are the same as modern Smith and Wesson or Peerless items.
