Clejuso
Clejuso
Solingen, Germany
Established 1860
Clejuso was established by the Clemen and Jung families as a maker of high end tableware and cutlery. The name is a portmanteau of (Cle)men, (Ju)ng, (So)lingen.
Clejuso pivoted to edged weapons production for military contracts, producing sabers, bayonets, and swords. They produced large amounts of trench knives for the first World War, and ceremonial dress swords during WW2, but following the demilitarization laws resulting from that war, they had to stop producing weapons, so they chose to move their focus entirely to their high quality steel restraints.
Above and below, Clejuso Darby shackles from the authors own collection. This is a well made adjustable Darby with five locking positions. I have not seen any non adjustable Clejuso darbies; nor any adjustable Hiatt Darby shackles.
