Yale Padlock

This is a beautiful old padlock from Yale and Towne Manufacturing Company in Stamford, Connecticut, USA. It has a push key, which inserts and then lifts the brass shackle up and out  and away from the iron lock body.

Several examples of this lock were available on eBay at time of purchase. This one was purchased for $19.95 plus shipping and had two keys, one original.

Again with the patina. Just lovely. If the lock body is made of iron, that is more evidence that perhaps my theory of iron getting a deeper patina than steel is correct? We will see.
