Quick example of real Darby cuffs

 

Here's a quick example of the hinges on real vintage Darby cuffs. Hiatt made these model 104 handcuffs with tight fitting hinges and smooth finish, albeit a bit rusty in this photo but this will clean up really nicely as compared to the Indian made replicas which are just made crudely with poor materials and finished poorly and sold as if they are antique.

People fall for it because they don't realize is that these items were made with great care by skilled artesian metal workers who proudly put their company name on the item. They think old=primitive=roughly made. 

Anyway this pair just came up on eBay. One has a key, one doesn't. High asking price but open to offers. One of my favorite cuffs, for sure. I have two pairs of these 104 handcuffs, which supposedly came in a variety of sizes.
