Heavy Chinese Single Lock leg irons

This is an unusual set of heavy duty swing thru leg irons from China. The chain looks about 12" long and the cuffs are the same basic shape as modern designs but much, MUCH thicker.

The seller indicates these are single locking only, and use a standard modern key.

They sold for $947 after 15 bids. That's more than the Bean Prison Collar. That's more than the fully functional Maltby with key that sold recently.

The lock case is about an inch thick. The swing arm is about 1/2" thick. The chain is attached to heavy clevis-like points which appear to be integral to the cuff body itself.

The current bid is $173.50 but the reserve price has not been met yet. There have been 8 bids.

UPDATE: the current bid is now $300, and the reserve price is no longer a factor. There have been 12 bids. There have been 79 views on the last 24 hours. This item is drawing a lot of attention. I wonder if I can find it for sale online somewhere like I did with the Super Cuff Collar. I had never seen THAT item on eBay before. I should have bought two and auctioned one off.

FINAL UPDATE: These sold for $947 after 15 bids. Impressive price on this item. That's MORE than the recent Bean Prison Collar. It really makes me wonder if these are vintage/ antique and can't be sourced from China now.

These leg irons look very heavy duty but also somewhat crude. There is no swivel.

The cuffs include a black, zippered synthetic canvas pouch much like the Anhua handcuffs, Chinese "Death Shackles" and the H and R Super Collar I got recently. This leads me to believe this is another Anhua design or similar for police and military use in China. These are certainly less than ideal for "legitimate" uses due to the superfluous weight and lack of a double lock.

I would like to see the Chinese copy of the H and R Super Leg Irons reach American collectors. Even though I have a pair of the H and R original, I would like a copy to compare, and my H & R, while fully functional with keys, has severely worn nickel plating.
