Konepaja Voima

This is a rare and valuable pair of handcuffs from Finland. Konepaja Voima translates to Power Machine Shop. This pair is for sale on eBay for $406.67 and comes with one key. 

This design was based on Finnish patent number 12928 and was produced from approximately 1920 to 1935.

These are the "original" design which inspired H & R to make the Super Cuff and Super Leg Irons begining in 1934. This design was used by the American government, and surplus was later sent to Chinese Nationalists during the war against the Communist Party. 

However, the Communist party won, and expelled the Nationalists to Taiwan. The H & R Super Cuffs fell into the hands of the Communists, who used them until they broke and then reverse engineered the design.

 Over time China has altered the lock mechanism slightly and changed the key design but they are essentially the same design.

This design has been used for over one hundred years across three distinct variations.
