Burdick Chain Handcuffs

Here is a very, very rare handcuff with a unique design where the cuffs themselves are made of chain, and it is only the lock case parts that are solid.

These appeared on a Facebook collectors group page and quickly sold for $950 with one key.

Above, another example of the Burdick Chain Handcuffs. This one was part of a lot, and while the other two were relatively unremarkable, (Towers Double Lock Handcuffs w/o key, and an older Smith and Wesson handcuffs) this lot was listed and sold for only $250. There was no key included unfortunately.

These are EXCEEDINGLY rare. I remember a forum member on the handcuffs.org site receiving and posting about a pair of these which actually turned out to be Burdick Chain Leg Irons. Rarer than rare.

I imagine I won't ever get to own a pair of these but they look very unique. The chains flexibility means that these would conform perfectly to any wrist or ankle. Chains with padlocks are sometimes used as leg restraints and appear to be at least as ergonomically reasonable as any other shackle.
