More fakes

 Here are a couple examples of another type of fake/replica. The two of these just posted on eBay and said to be used/antique/from 1800s. They're not. 

Above, one of the poorest excuses for a restraint I've ever seen. The "chain" is made of a bunch of old bolts bent into figure 8s with a sort of ferrule bent into the center of each. 

Below another example of these poor quality cuffs. Look how crude the cuffs are formed, and note the weird "key" 

Below, same pair as above, you can see the pathetic 'hinge", the rolled sheet metal"lock tube" and the cuffs are made of flat stock. At least they bent the edges outwards for some semblance of finished quality. 

Below, close up detail of the first pair, note the crude and undersized hinge pin, and the "attachment" point for the "chain" is just inserted and the ends bent out on the inside surface of the cuff. This would cause abrasion, laceration, and eventually blood poisoning if someone were kept in these; this exact series of events has been documented in multiple inhumane detention scenarios. It would ALSO be a small task to bend that ring out of the shackle given any sort of leverage. No legitimate restraint maker would use this crude method. Every real Darby handcuffs and shackles has this piece INTEGRAL with the cuff itself, whether it's forged, welded, or formed as one piece. 

What a poor design. These are beyond worthless.
