Hiatt Irish 8 and alloy Darby transport combination

 

Here is a nice Irish 8 handcuff with an amazing deep brown patina. This looks like a larger size as well, which is less common than the smaller sizes. 

This pair sold for CAD 400 or $289.08 buy it Now with what looks like the original key. Note this key is similar to the Providence Tool Company key design. 

This is a nice pair that is likely a very early example. 

Above, a very solid transport restraint from Hiatt during the alloy production period. This combination sold for $90.89 after 15 bids. 

Above, the adjustable alloy darby handcuffs. Note the Hiatt mark on the hinge and the steel hardware. These are patterned after the model 115.  The handcuffs, when sold in retail package, are actually still labeled 115 during the alloy run. 

Above, the alloy Darby leg irons patterned after the larger of the older steel Hiatt models, which I previously referred to as 104L, but I have since seen a catalog photo from another collector which lists a different model number for leg irons. I'm also unsure if the alloy production leg irons ever had their own retail box as is often seen with the handcuffs for both the steel and alloy runs. 

These heavy snap shut shackles are well rounded and ergonomically designed. This pattern is fairly large, about 11" inner circumference. 

Above, the chain harness on these is high quality short heavy twist link. There is a swivel for the shackles and one for the handcuffs, but I don't think there's one in the harness chain. There is also an interesting lead chain led from the handcuffs, which would serve as an anchor chain to a fixed point, or for connecting to a collar. 

Below, a link to either this same combination being sold previously, or another example of it, lead chain included, which sold for $122.50 after 26 bids. This tells me that while these aren't worth a lot, they are desirable and collectable.
