This is a good condition example of the Darby handcuff from Reuben, Craddock and Sons. This example has a few different markings, and comes with the original key.
The key and cuff are marked 412.
Unique engraving for H. M. Dartmoor prison, a notorious prison built of local granite stone, which was built between 1806 and 1809 and closed in 2024 due to extreme levels of Radon gas present in the granite bedrock.

This is a very nice pair of handcuffs. I have a similar pair without the H. M. marking. I believe these came in three sizes, typically marked by 1, 2, or 3 dimples at the end of the shackle. Size two is most common by far, and is a bit more snug.
