Lots of Darbies!

My favorite style of cuffs, the Darby design. Simple, secure, solid. No double lock necessary. Robust locking mechanism. It's nice to see so many interesting pairs show up at once on eBay. Sometimes Darby cuffs don't get the attention other designs do.

Below, here is a very good condition pair of Hiatt Superintendent handcuffs. These have a finer chain with two additional O rings. In spite of this the chain isn't longer. The cuffs themselves are also lighter and slimmer. These are listed for $135 with the original key. A very nice set.

Below, another Hiatt Superintendent set. These are stamped WRC and listed at $135 with the original key. UPDATE: SOLD!

Below, a rare set of back strap darby handcuffs. Marked MC1 1941 with the original key and the Broad Arrow mark, these sold for $175 with 1 bid.

Below, a more recent but still vintage set of Hiatt Darby Handcuffs with the Broad Arrow mark and TWO original keys. These are also marked with KE 2771 which may be a military designation? I have seen other sets with similar markings, such as JG 1952.

Below, a Darby Handcuff from Dowler, a much rarer example. The key is marked 22. These sold for $190 with the original key.

Below, an example of the more standard Hiatt Darby Handcuffs. These sold for $125 with the original key.

The pair below sold for £325 or $439.27 with the original key. I'm not sure what it is about this pair that was worth so much more. It's certainly an antique example but the Dowler and the Back strap darby above are objectively more rare unless there's something about this pair that I missed.

Finally here is a very good condition pair from RCS, Ruben Craddock and Sons. This pair is listed at $225 with the original key. These are false back strap design and have three circular marks adjacent to the lock tube cap. This was used as a size indicator. This size 3 is more rare than the size 2. I have a pair of RCS Darbies in my collection. RCS was an iron making outfit in Walsall, Britain established in 1803 which primarily produced handcuffs for the military.
 These HAVE SOLD!
