VOPO East German DDR hinged handcuffs two models
This is the last production variant of the uniquely oversized, ergonomic hinged handcuffs from the East German Volkspolizei.
I have a pair of these which I got in 2023 for about $115 with two original keys. About the same price for this example.

These sold for $129.50 after 16 bids with one original key.
Above, close up detail of the hinge block which is one monolithic and tight fitting piece with a smoother texture than the cuffs themselves. Note the key which is oversized and fairly simple, and the keyway which is similarly oversized. Also note the cuffs are mirror imaged.Above, view of the swing arms. Note the size of the cuff body and the hinge pin.
These are double locking via the keyhole turning opposite direction. The double lock is essentially another pawl which locks in place; it's not entirely reliable. These swing through ratcheting handcuffs are made with cast (?) aluminum alloy and steel components.
Above, note the massive fixed bow on the cuffs. These look very artistic to me. Almost like a sculpture. This older non swing through version is much rarer than the swing through one.
Below we have an earlier version of the VOPO hinged handcuffs. These were NOT swing through, and thus had to be carried in an open position or unlocked before use. There are also reports of unreliable double locking.
This pair sold for $162.50 after 16 bids with one original key.

Above, view of swing arm. Note the pocket in the fixed bow where the ratchet pawls engage. Similar in this regard are the Bean Prison Shackles and handcuffs, as the swing arm enters a blind pocket in the opposite part.
